Pixel devices are also known for their quality multi-camera systems. These setups work alongside AI features like Super Res Zoom and Night Sight to offer an exceptional photography experience. And last year’s model was no exception.

The Pixel 9 series featured the durable Gorilla Glass Victus 2 material. It also had an improved dual-camera layout and a bright 2700-nit display. The Pro was even more impressive, delivering an additional 5x telephoto lens and advanced display technology. 

Does this year’s Google phone lineup live up to these standards, and should you invest? Let’s take a closer look at the newest Pixel phones.

What Are the Latest Google Pixel Phones?

As of November 2025, the latest Google Pixel phones are those in the Pixel 10 series: the base model, Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and the 10 Pro Fold. This is Google’s contribution to the book-style foldable market.

These Android phones were unveiled on August 20, 2025, at the Made by Google Keynote in New York, before officially releasing at the Google Store on August 28. The exception is the Pro Fold, which was delayed until October 9.

Here’s everything you should know about the 10th-generation Pixels:

Design and Displays

Both the base model and Pro have the same 6.3-inch display and dimensions as last year’s device. However, one update that has been made is to the Pro XL’s weight. At 232 grams, this phone is now heavier to support its larger battery and Qi2 magnets (more on this later!).

Like its predecessor, the Pro XL also sports a large 6.8-inch screen with an even higher 3300-nit peak brightness. This is 300 nits brighter than the standard Pixel, which features an adaptive refresh rate between 60 and 120 Hz for smoother scrolling. However, the Pro models use LTPO technology to achieve a minimum 1 Hz refresh rate.

Aside from their size difference, the two Pro models are pretty much physically identical. Both feature a matte back with glossy sides, whereas the base Pixel 10 switches these two elements around. Cameras are housed in Google’s iconic elongated oval bar on the back of each device.

Cameras

The standard Pixel 10 is the first to have three rear cameras, including a 5x zoom telephoto lens. This means all models now have a triple camera system, although neither the Pro nor Pro XL has had any upgrades. Instead, they keep the same great setup:

• 50 MP main

• 48 MP ultrawide

• 48 MP telephoto

• 42 MP selfie

However, the base model unfortunately misses out on many AI-powered photography and video software features, including 8K video, Night Sight, and Video Boost. It also swaps 100x Pro Res Zoom for a slightly lower-quality 20x Super Res Zoom capability.

Performance

All Google Pixel phones in this year’s lineup feature the custom-designed Tensor G5 chip.

It’s built using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process and offers significant performance and efficiency improvements, thanks to the 34% faster CPU. The Tensor G5 also has a TPU that’s 60% more powerful, which facilitates the Pixel 10’s improved AI processing.

Performance is an area where the Pro models excel, including offering 4 GB of additional RAM versus the regular Pixel 10. While the base model has an improved 4970 mAh battery capacity, the Pro XL also features the biggest battery ever seen on a Pixel phone at 5200 mAh! The Pro’s capacity is slightly lower at 4870 mAh.

One huge benefit of upgrading to the newest Pixel phones is Qi2 charging. This standard supports more efficient wireless charging through improved magnetic alignment, with speeds of up to 15 W for the Pixel 10 and Pro devices. The 10 Pro XL is currently the only Qi 2.2, 25 W phone on the market, which offers even faster magnetic charging.

Is the Pixel 10 Pro Fold a Good Foldable Phone?

If you’re looking to join the over 25 million people hopping onto the foldable phone trend that’s re-emerged over the past few years, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a great choice.

The dual-display device keeps a similar design to its predecessor, including the same Gorilla Glass Victus 2 material and an aluminum frame, plus a huge 8-inch internal screen. However, Google has made significant improvements to its durability. 

The 10 Pro Fold is among the only folding devices to come with an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, meaning it can survive in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. 

While it includes the same Tensor G5 and an impressive 5015 mAh battery, the Fold doesn’t feature the vapor chamber cooling system that keeps the other Pixel 10 Pro devices cool and efficient under intense loads. 

In terms of cameras, it also has the same system as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Though folding phone photography never quite lives up to the same standard as regular devices, Instant View is a huge benefit. This feature allows you to view photos in your camera roll on the other screen, without exiting the Pixel Camera app. 

Are the Newest Pixel Phones Worth Buying?

The Pixel 10 and Pro devices are undoubtedly the best Pixel phones yet. 

The base model has the same premium look and feel as the Pro models, featuring the first triple camera setup on a Google base model device. A high-performance Tensor G5 chip also supports Google’s upgraded AI capabilities and is available on all models. However, the Tensor G5 isn’t quite as powerful as the processors found in the latest Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy devices.

The 10 Pro Fold doesn’t necessarily live up to its “Pro” name, particularly considering its $1,799 price tag. However, with no folding iPhone on the market, there currently aren’t many options available right now. Both the new Google Pixel and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 model are great choices.

With their similar design and durability, plus great camera quality, the Pixel 10 series closes the gap between the base and the Pro models. But there are a few reasons why you may go for the Pro.

If you’re into photography, the 10 Pro and Pro XL offer better AI-powered camera features. You’ll also benefit from a brighter display and more RAM. The Pro XL supports the most powerful, up-to-date wireless charging standard, but all devices are pretty impressive in terms of their long-lasting battery life and are definitely worth consideration.
