What are the iPhone 17 Colors? Choose Your Favorite!

The iPhone 17 is finally here! Alongside the latest Apple Watch, a new iPhone was unveiled at the ‘Awe Dropping’ event on September 9, 2025, featuring several exciting upgrades for the latest series.

These include a high-performance A19 chip with new Apple Intelligence features, a sharper selfie camera, an adaptive 120 Hz display, and even a completely new device: the iPhone 17 Air, Apple’s slimmest iPhone yet! Another change from previous generations is the introduction of new colors to the 2025 lineup.

Thanks to Apple insider information and renders leaked in the run-up to the launch, we already had a good idea of what to expect from the iPhone 17, 17 Air, Pro, and Pro Max’s design. But now we know for sure that all models have at least one new shade to choose from!

Before purchasing the latest Apple device, here’s everything you should know about the iPhone 17 color range.

Which New iPhone 17 Colors Are Available?

The base iPhone 17 hasn’t seen many design changes. However, it has swapped the iPhone 16’s brighter blue and pink colors for lighter pastels. It also features the same neutral black and white shades for those who prefer a more classic option.

Black

The iPhone 17’s Black color is similar to last year’s option for the iPhone 16. However, it has a slightly darker gray tone this time around.

This is a great choice if you’re using your iPhone for work, or simply for anyone who prefers their phone to have a sleek, sophisticated look.

White

White is another color kept from the iPhone 16 lineup. This simple, elegant shade first appeared on the iPhone 4 in April 2011 and today comes with a light silver camera ring.

Gray

The iPhone 17’s Gray shade looks pretty similar to the Black variation, but much lighter.

Light Green

Green shades are already quite common in the iPhone lineup, with both the 16 and 15 including unique hues.

However, this Light Green shade on the iPhone 17 replaces the 16’s Teal, which was a mixture of blue and green. It’s also a significantly deeper forest-y shade than the iPhone 15’s Green option, with more of a traditional green color and no blue hues.

Light Purple

If you’re a fan of pink phones, the bad news is that the latest generation iPhone lineup won’t feature one.

The iPhone 17 instead swaps the 16’s Pink shade for a new Light Purple, featuring lavender hues. This was last seen on the iPhone 14 and does make a nice change from Pink, which previously appeared on both the 15 and 16.

Light Blue

Light Blue adds a fun pop of color to the iPhone 17 lineup. While the iPhone 16 came in Ultramarine and the iPhone 15 featured a classic pastel Blue shade, the latest iPhone’s Light Blue falls somewhere in between.

Do the iPhone 17 Pro Models Have Any New Colors?

New shades aren’t just limited to the base iPhone 17. While the Pro models usually sport neutral tones that uphold the premium feel, Apple has decided to switch things up this year and include more vibrant, daring coloring options.

Along with a smaller Dynamic Island, the titanium frame of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max has been swapped for a new aluminum body, which returns after being introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro in 2023. This is significantly lighter and dissipates heat more effectively, working alongside the revolutionary vapor chamber cooling system.

The iPhone 17 lineup therefore no longer features the Black Titanium, White Titanium, Natural Titanium, and Desert Titanium color options. It keeps the Black and White shades, but in aluminum rather than titanium, and also swaps Natural Titanium for a silvery gray color and two new choices:

Dark Blue

If you’re looking for something a little different from Black, but still prefer a deeper shade, try Dark Blue. This oceanic navy color is inspired by the Apple Watch Ultra series and adds an interesting option to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup.

Orange

With its coppery, fiery tones, Orange is another shade inspired by the Apple Watch Ultra. Analysts say it reflects Apple’s push to distinguish itself from competitors like Samsung with its S series phones, which already feature vivid colors like Coralred. And we agree!

What Color is the New iPhone 17 Air?

The brand-new iPhone 17 Air also brings some new color options: Light Gold and Light Blue.  Like the rest of the 17 range, the iPhone Air also features classic Black and White shades. These sleek options look particularly great with the slim frame, adding a premium touch to the budget-friendly phone.

The 17 Air replaces the Plus model, with a design that’s 30% thinner than the previous iPhone 16 models! It also rivals the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung’s slimmest flagship device.

While it may only feature a single rear camera, the good news is that the Air also comes with the same A19 chip as the standard iPhone, plus a slimmer, yet higher-powered battery.

However, its design is slightly different, with a large rectangular camera bump that spans the device’s width. The iPhone 17 Air also features some of the same colors as the base device, alongside some exclusive ones:

Light Blue

Blue has been a staple iPhone color for many years now, and the 17 Air is no exception. This new Light blue shade features a slight gray undertone that works well alongside the Air’s other neutral color options.

Light Gold

While it may have been popular a few years ago, it’s pretty rare to see a gold phone today. However, Apple is bringing Light Gold back with the introduction of the iPhone 17 Air. This warm metallic shade is slightly different from the rest, but should look just as stunning on the ultra-thin iPhone.

Final Thoughts

As always, a good variety of classic and new shades have been introduced to this year’s iPhone 17 lineup. It’s great to see a few brighter options for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max devices, too, along with some original colors for the 17 Air. These options aren’t just direct copies of the base model, either!

If you can’t find a shade you like or simply want to switch things up every so often, we’d recommend purchasing an iPhone 17 case. Along with adding a pop of color, shockproof cases also protect the device’s screen, camera lenses, and internal components from damage. Extend the iPhone 17’s lifespan and protect your investment!
