Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Price: What Can You Expect to Pay?

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Price: What Can You Expect to Pay?

From a larger, more durable display to a longer battery life, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 looks set to be one of 2025’s best phone launches.

Stirring up the excitement are rumors regarding potential upgrades and changes to Samsung’s clamshell foldable, which will be launched alongside the larger, more expensive Z Fold 7. Many of these rumors are based on price, particularly since last year’s model saw a $100 hike.

We won’t have any concrete pricing details until Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked launch event, which is scheduled to take place in New York some time during early July. Until then, here are our predictions based on insider news and leaks.

What Did the Galaxy Z Flip 6 Cost?

Samsung continued to refine its foldable phone offering with the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Featuring a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a new IP48 rating, this launched on July 10 2024, with sales starting two weeks later on July 24.

The Z Flip 6 debuted at $1,099 for 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, with the 512GB model costing $1,219. This gives us a good benchmark for the Z Flip 7’s potential price.

Will the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Increase in Price?

According to rumors from Samsung insiders, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will cost the same as its predecessor: $1,099. This follows the pattern of other Samsung devices launched in 2025, including the Galaxy S25, which started at $799 in February.

Alongside the Z Fold 6, Samsung’s larger phone with a folding display, last year’s Flip 6 saw a $100 price hike. The higher price tag was to cover design improvements, making the screens more durable, yet the overall device slimmer, plus Galaxy AI software upgrades.

This makes another increase for the Z Flip 7 unlikely, since multiple price hikes are often unattractive to consumers.

However, a tipster on X suggests that “Few Countries will get Price Increases, while Most of Markets will keep Prices Similar to the Previous ones.” This information is seemingly “confirmed” by one of their sources, but we don’t know exactly which regions these increases will apply to.

Our best guess is the US. Tariffs imposed by the Trump administration this year mean that smartphones sold in, yet manufactured outside of, the United States may face a 25% penalty. These tariffs would certainly apply to Apple, but Samsung could also fall victim, since most of its devices are currently made in South Korea, Vietnam, India, and Brazil.

How Much Will the Z Flip 7 FE Cost?

If you’re worried that the premium price of the Z Flip 7 may be out of your budget, Samsung is this year offering another option. As a cheaper alternative to the standard flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (Fan Edition) will be the first of its kind.

Its existence has been confirmed by Thailand’s NBTC certification, and while we don’t yet know much, it could include Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400 chip. The budget model should also be powered by 8GB of RAM, with maximum wired charging speeds of 25W, plus two rear cameras.

Samsung hasn’t added a device to its FE range since the Galaxy S23, so pricing details are difficult to predict. However, the S23 FE cost $200 less than its more expensive counterpart. If pricing rumors for the Flip 7 are correct, this would put the Flip 7 FE at around $899.

Can I Buy the Z Flip 7 for Less?

While it may not cost as much as the Z Fold 7 (which is rumored to start from $1,899!), the Z Flip 7 is likely to be a pretty expensive phone particularly with any potential price increases.

Luckily, mobile carrier and online retailer discounts mean you won’t always need to pay full price for the Flip phone. Many of these deals begin immediately after Galaxy Unpacked during the pre-order window, so keep your eyes peeled from early July!

Some options that often appear year after year include:

  • Trade-in Credit: Receive up to a $650 discount by trading in your old Samsung phone.

  • Storage Upgrades: Upgrade to the 512GB model for free at certain stores.

  • Bill Credits: Get money off your bill each month instead of a one-off trade-in credit.

  • Freebies: Earn gift cards and accessories for simply purchasing the Z Flip 7.

  • Bundles: Buy the Galaxy Buds, Watch, or a tablet at a discounted price with the Flip.

What to Expect for the Price: Galaxy Z Flip 7 Features & Upgrades

One of the Z Flip 6’s biggest improvements was the 50MP Main camera, offering a significant step up from the 5’s 12MP lens. Unfortunately, the camera setup is expected to stay the same this year.

But elsewhere, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could  see a variety of design and performance changes:

Display

Flip phone models like the Z Flip 7 are known for their dual display setups, which allow you to see notifications without opening the device.

Although the new Galaxy Z generation will be “thinner, lighter, and more durable than the last,” one area that could grow in size is the cover screen. This is likely to increase from 3.4 to 4 inches, while the outer folding display will reportedly become 6.85 inches from 6.7.

Performance

In-house Exynos chipsets haven’t been included on a Samsung device since the Galaxy S22 series. However, these custom-made chips could be a key feature on the Z Flip 7, although it's not yet confirmed whether they’ll replace the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Battery

Featuring a 4300mAh capacity, the battery on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could potentially be the biggest yet! This also comes after last year’s 300mAh size increase.

When paired with a high-performance chip, the Flip 7 may offer a longer battery life and faster, smoother loading speeds.

Is the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Worth the Price?

With an announcement looking more and more likely at the start of July, we won’t have to wait long to discover what the Z Flip 7 will look like, the features included, and the price options.

However, based on what we already know, Samsung’s newest clamshell foldable will include some impressive upgrades, including a boosted battery life, a larger cover display, and a new chipset. If you’re looking to invest in a foldable phone, but don’t want to part with $1,899 for the Galaxy Z Fold, the Z Flip 7 could therefore be a great choice.

If you’re a photography fan or already own the Z Flip 6, an upgrade might not be necessary. Holding out for the next generation or utilizing one of the many pre-order deals are often the best options so keep an eye out on release day!
